What We TREAT
Mental Health Disorders
You’re Not Alone
With more than a million people in Maryland who have limited access to mental health professionals in their area, we recognize that providing quality care is essential.
We at Omi Psychiatry & TMS strive to provide care that caters to you and your unique needs. We treat a range of mental health conditions.
With an array of treatments for depression, it makes sense that some may not work for everyone. For those who are not satisfied by the effectiveness of antidepressant medications, they may seek an alternative form of treatment. One alternative approach is transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). NeuroStar® Advanced Therapy TMS is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic energy to stimulate areas of the brain that are connected to mood. This treatment has recently been FDA-cleared for patients whose depression has not been effectively treated by prior antidepressant medications.

Anxiety is a problem that affects most of us. It can have a significant impact on your life, causing you to feel isolated and withdrawn from day-to-day tasks and activities. In most cases, psychotherapy is the first line of treatment for anxiety. If your symptoms are severe and crippling, you may need to consider prescription medications as well. However, there are other options available to manage anxiety as well as drug treatments – one example is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation or NeuroStar TMS therapy, which uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain activity in an effort to quiet down symptoms of anxiety; this can be used for those with anxiety and Major Depressive disorder.

Our Treatment methods
You might not realize it, but hormones and nutrition play a huge role in your mood and overall health. And when those levels get out of whack, you can experience everything from mild depression to anxiety to irritability.
That’s why we prescribe our patients hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) like testosterone, estradiol, progesterone or balancing herbs and supplements like Ashwagandha, SAM-E, L-theanine, and St. John’s wort.
We’re excited to offer NeuroStar TMS for depression and anxiety. This FDA-cleared treatment can help you cope with the symptoms of these mental illnesses, and it doesn’t require any medication.
TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and it’s a noninvasive procedure that uses electromagnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. We use this treatment as an alternative to antidepressants or other prescription drugs in those who choose a more holistic route.
